Registration for this program occurs in person. You must stop by during one of our drop-in sessionsto apply and register.

Beaufort County Community College offers the Basic Law Enforcement Training Program accredited by the North Carolina Criminal Justice Training and Standards Commission and the North Carolina Sheriffs' Commission.

Anyone seeking to become a sworn officer with a law enforcement agency in North Carolina must take the course in its entirety and pass the state exam.

The course consists of 33 different subject areas involving training for inexperienced law enforcement officers. Instructors for the course will be from a wide range of agencies and specialty areas.

The Beaufort County Community College Basic Law Enforcement Training Program is accredited by the Criminal Justice Standards Division of the North Carolina Department of Justice, PO Drawer 149, Raleigh, NC 27602.
