Welcome! Beaufort County Community College is committed to providing students with a competitive distance education program that demonstrates the same rigor and quality of instruction as the traditional learning experience. BCCC strives to provide a comprehensive array of quality, affordable, and accessible courses delivered by qualified and caring faculty.

All online courses are delivered through the college’s learning management system, Blackboard. Blackboard is designed to meet all accessibility guidelines; however, if support is needed, BCCC staff is available.

Is Online Learning Right For You?


Learning is a very personal process. At BCCC, we understand that each student has different learning styles and comes to us with varying levels of experience. Because our goal is for you to be successful, BCCC has a variety of options when it comes to choosing the type of course that's best for you:

Seated/Web-Enhanced

  • Face-to-Face class meetings only

  • Blackboard may be used for posting instructor contact information, grades, and syllabi

  • Internet access may be required by your instructor

Hybrid

  • Face-to-Face class meetings required

  • Online assignments required

  • Internet access is required

Online

  • 100% of class is online

  • No class meetings

  • On-campus testing may be required for some courses

  • Internet access is required

Technical Requirements for Success


Although online learning provides the flexibility that fits with many of today's busy lifestyles, there are some important things to consider before making your decision.

  • Compatible Browser - Blackboard is compatible with Firefox, Chrome, and Safari. Using other browsers may result in navigation and content access issues.

  • Appropriate Software - As a BCCC student, you have FREE access to Office 365 which includes Email, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
