Prospective students invited to boatbuilding information sessions

Beaufort County Community College will hold information sessions for prospective students interested in its new boat building program for Fall 2021. These sessions will be in person in the shop space for classes. Students will have the opportunity to ask questions and speak with Connor Jones, BCCC’s boatbuilding professor, and preview the equipment and tools used in the program.

The sessions will be held at the Beaufort County Skills Center at 705 Page Road in Washington. There will be four drop-in sessions. Interested individuals can contact Connor Jones with any questions at connor.jones@beaufortccc.edu or 252-940-6380.

Sessions will be held on the following dates:

  • Monday, June 21 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

  • Saturday, June 26 9:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.

  • Wednesday, June 30 6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.

  • Monday, July 12 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

The boat building program is designed to give students essential skills to gain employment with boat manufactures, service centers/dealerships, and custom boat builders. Students will work on various projects from new builds to repair jobs, electrical, plumbing, tooling/mold construction, and much more. Students will have access to all the top tools and equipment used in the industry. Upon program completion, graduates will receive a Diploma in Boat Manufacture and Service.
